- Trees: dead/dying ash trees by the fountain pond will be replaced; they will be replaced with other species such as oaks, maples, and tulip trees.
- Black or brown mulch – we decided to try black mulch around the community this year. It will look nice against our black entrance signs.
- Ponds – no issues to report.
3. Community Clean up – we will have a community clean up day one Saturday afternoon in April. Keep Indianapolis Beautiful supplies the trash bags and gloves. More information about exact date and time to follow.
4. Parking in the street –the community voted last year to have the signs installed. We are working with the city to make this happen. We will keep you posted on the progress.
5. Resident Concerns:
- Stolen “no motorcycle” signs – the signs were found behind a neighbors yard and have been recovered. They will be installed this spring.
- Noise complaints – if you want to complain about any loud noises in the community, please call 911 (not the non emergency number). This was a recommendation from the police.
- Sidewalk Repair – we are in the process of compiling a community wide report on repairs that need to be done in the community. We will take this list to the Mayor’s Liaison who will work with the city to get them fixed.
- Maintenance on homes – a reminder to keep our homes looking neat, yards looking nice.
- Crime watch: we will send out an email about crime in our area; we ask all neighbors to let us know if something is happening and we will put it out; Next Door is a great app to find out what is going on in the neighborhoods around us.
- Mini barn size – we are looking at increasing the allowable size of mini-barns. There is a new Indianapolis code that came out, so once we verify what can be built without having to get a permit from the city, we will get that information to you. We will need 75% of community to agree on the new size of the barn to change the current covenants.
- More lighting in community: we will do a survey of the dark areas in our community where it may benefit to have an extra light. Here are the costs:
- Adding a 100 w light (what we currently have) will increase monthly fee $21.17 with a 5 year agreement per light
- Installation costs also apply; rates vary depending on how far from a pedestal or ipl box is; can be a couple hundred dollars or thousand if they have to go underneath a driveway We will keep you apprised of the situation.
