Minutes from August 6th 2015 meeting

In attendance were Kat, Jan, and Haley. Kevin stopped by before the meeting.

  1. The fountain at the south pond has been shut off. This was due to an unfortunate series of events that happened to come together. The bottom line is that the IPL bill was not paid. This was taken care of and paid so that the fountain was once again turned on. We looked into having an automatic payment plan for IPL out of our account, but this is not possible so the board has put in a series of checks so that this does not happen again.
  2. We discussed the emails from a resident about the egging of her house and mailbox. This has now happened a couple of times. Here is what we suggested that she do: Please report this to the police using the non emergency number 327–3811. This is the number to report curfew violations as well. The HOA is not a police force. We hope all residents will keep their eyes open and report any suspicious activity to the police.
  3. Parking:  waiting on the mayor’s liaison.
  4. Scott our landscaper cut down the weeds growing by the natural pond, but unfortunately he discovered that people were dumping logs and yard debris so this has hindered their ability to cut it down. We discussed sending a letter to residents.
  5. One of our residents let the Marion county health department know about our ponds so they have been out in the community spraying the ponds for mosquitoes. They did not know the ponds existed so now they will be out every year to spray.
  6. Business Entity: we are still in the process of working with the state of indiana. We continue to get them the documents they need.
  7. We discussed the snow plow contract. It is that time of year again when we need to have a contract in place for the upcoming winter. We are taking bids and will finalize the contract in October.
  8. We will ask Kathy again if she would like to be in charge of a Halloween Party. The feedback from the 4th of July event was very good so we hope she can help out again.
