May 2015 HOA Meeting Minutes

Minutes from May 6th 2015 meeting

In attendance were Kat, Jan, Haley and Kevin

  1. The Board discussed the issue of parking on both sides of the street. If  you look at Amber Ridge’s streets, they are not as wide as some of the communities nearby. Katalina will get with Kelly Faulk the community liaison to see what options we have as a community.
  2. The idea was proposed that we could paint the curbs especially around the south entrance for safety and visibility. We received word that we may not paint them and that DPW does not paint them anymore. This is from Kelly Faulk the community liaison.
  3. We discussed the curfew hours for teenagers. The current law is as follows:

Sec. 381-101. – Curfew hours for children fifteen, sixteen and seventeen years of age.

It is unlawful for a child fifteen (15), sixteen (16), or seventeen (17) years of age to be in a public place in the county at any time during the following curfew hours:

(1)

Between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on Saturday or Sunday;

(2)

After 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday; or

(3)

Before 5:00 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.

(G.O. 101, 2000, § 1)

  •         Sec. 381-102. – Curfew hours for children younger than fifteen years of age.

It is unlawful for a child younger than fifteen (15) years of age to be in a public place in the county after 11:00 p.m. or before 5:00 a.m. on any day.

Kelly Foulk recommends that we call the 327-3811 non emergency police number if any resident sees a violation of this curfew.

  1. We talked about putting this information on the website for all residents to see. Kevin will take care of this. He also added information about the coyotes spotted in the area.
  2. Jan gave the treasurer’s report and it was discussed what to do with residents who did not pay their annual dues. There are many residents who have not paid for many years. The HOA policy is to send out three reminder letters (April, May, and June) which includes an option to get onto a payment plan to pay the HOA dues in installments. Next month will be the 3rd and final letter to send to residents. It was decided that the next step is to send the delinquent payments to collection.
  3. Haley has been doing a great job of getting residents onto Next Door. This is a social media site to connect residents. Kevin added it to the website so you can connect right on our website.
  4. We discussed one of our residents clearing area next to the nature pond. He has done an excellent job of clearing out the dead wood and junk that is there. Thanks to him for taking the initiative to make this happen.
  5. Scott our landscaper will empty the trash next to the park for us. He will do it every week when he takes care of the community.

Next meeting in Wednesday, 10 June  7:30 pm.
