2014 Annual Homeowners Meeting
The meeting was held at Firehouse 53 on Tuesday, March 4th.
Debbie welcomed the residents to the meeting. She introduced the board members.
Jan reported on the finances of the community and gave the residents another copy of the budget. A few questions came up about the finances. Jan was able to explain our budget and that funds are in one account and can be used for any expenditure. Jan talked about extra expenses this winter and how we select bids for landscape, pond maintenance and snow removal.
Kevin talked about our website and pointed out some of its features. He also explained the architectural process.
Kat then talked about the new entrance signs and the placement of them. Kat will look into revising the plans, since it is more than what we wanted to spend. Kat mentioned that restoring and painting the fence will take place this spring.
Debbie talked about some of our social events such as the 4th of July parade, Halloween party, and welcoming new neighbors. She mentioned the importance of having residents’ current email addresses for Crime Watch information. She talked about the current plan for snow removal and that it is constantly being improved and updated. Residents were informed about the upcoming Clean Up Day for the neighborhood. We will follow Franklin Township schedule
A vote was taking re-electing the current board members. Two new members were also elected. Two other residents might be interested in helping in other ways, such as writing a new letter. Residents were then invited to discuss concerns and problems. Overnight parking was a big issue.
Ashley Davis, the Mayor’s Neighborhood Liaison, talked to the residents concerning several issues. She mentioned that gangs were in the township and how the Mayor’s office is responding. Two round -a –bouts will be installed at Gray and Edgewood and Thompson and Five Points Road. She also informed us about the Keep Indy Beautiful program. KIB will help the subdivision with landscape issues along with helping us build benches. They have arborists that will give us suggestions and KIB will provide a free site assessment.
